The Thin Orange Line ™

The Thin Orange Line is a colloquial term for the fatality of a construction worker of which the charity Construction Angels benefit the surviving children and head of household, and the two black lines above and below it are used as mourning bands to signify the loss of fellow construction workers.

Trademark definition: The orange line refers to the construction worker in general. The three lines — black, orange and black – – refers to those construction worked killed while on the job.

The Thin Orange Line stems from the The Thin Blue Line origin, used as a colloquial term for police forces. In the United States, the blue line is sometimes used on mourning bands to signify the loss of a fellow officer.
