More Than $35,000


Construction Angels' Wingfest Event Raises More Than $35,000 DAVIE, Fla. (April 28, 2015) - Last weekend's Wingfest event attracted more than 6,000 participants and raised in excess of $35,000 to benefit Construction Angels, a non-profit whose mission is to facilitate access to financial services for immediate surviving family members of construction workers who have lost their lives while working on a jobsite. Alligator Ron's Wingfest 2015 was a battle of the best chicken wings and sauces from some of the top local restaurants in town, with celebrity judging, chicken wing competitions and live rock and country bands providing entertainment. The event was held at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds in Davie.

  • "Wingfest was a huge success - not only did everyone have a great time, we were also very pleased with the amount of money raised, since this was a first-time event," said Dean Sims II, Sims Crane Vice President of Marketing and Construction Angels board member.     Construction Angels' main objective is to help support fellow construction-industry colleagues and assist their families during this painful process.
